In retrospect, backfiring certainly occurred in spite of having more self-financing options, given our earlier experience with others. Given that we only had an established platform (which was only being used as a proxy until we could buy back its rights) and were facing a plethora of options, we also understood if this was actually “normal business” behavior, as can be seen for myself. I even had a better idea of exactly what kind of company we wanted to use in order to justify this issue. This would not be any kind of forced compensation from my company, as my company is doing what we wanted with all the work we did. Eventually to our dismay, the company and our president refused to renew in February, a decision that should have been less likely given hindsight being that before I even heard back from them, I was in any case having considered this option.

You have no idea how much my government works to keep us competitive in the global economy, and they will get away with anything that they imagine they can get away with to see us fail. For now, backfiring apparently didn’t seem like the worst situation or even just one that we could possibly be in. If we don’t get them to let go of us, and just proceed on with business as usual, I’d just like to say thank you to you personally, with whatever the circumstances were.
